While we have regular professional pest control in place and keep the property thoroughly clean, occasional sightings of palmetto bugs (large outdoor cockroaches common in coastal regions) may happen. They are not a reflection of cleanliness, but rather a part of life near the coast. We do our best to prevent their entry, but we want to set clear expectations in case you encounter one during your stay. Just a quick note about your stay: we do have some local compliance requirements you’ll need to take care of, including a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000. This hold isn’t a traditional security deposit; it’s just a pending transaction to keep things simple. If you’d like, we also offer a non-refundable damage waiver through a third-party insurance company as an optional alternative to the security hold. It’s just $49 for stays up to 10 nights, and if you’re staying longer, it’s an additional $3 per day. But no pressure — this is totally optional! To make everything super easy, we use a secure and simple platform called Happy Guest. There’s no app to download, and you won’t have to create an account. It’s a safe and secure website that gives you access to a guest portal filled with all the information about the home and my favorite local spots to check out!
